My Surprise!

So I get a text from my good friend Jaime asking if she can stop by to drop something off. She shows up at my house with this BEAUTIFUL hand knitted blanket. An older women (somewhere near 100 years old) knits these blankets and each blanket takes 4 months to make. The detail is incredible and I LOVE the colors and theme. This will became a family heirloom that baby girl gill can pass down. Each blanket is made for a "special" baby so Jaime thought I would love it and she's right. So the girls room might become a caterpillar/ladybug theme! I'm so blessed to have such wonderful friends in my life. This gift means so much to me!

  1. When I was a little girl in Columbus, Kansas, there was a church around the corner on our block. In the basement was a suspended quilt that the older women in the church sewed. Somehow, I made my way into that basement and they let me sit underneath and watch their needles fly in and out of those beautiful patterns as their words flew fast and furious telling stories of their families and their lives. These precious gifts were auctioned off to help their faith continue. You, indeed, are blessed. To receive the gift from the hands of an artist who continues to weave her gift to the world. How I love reading about your journey. And, to Jaime, you are one of my favorites (probably because you remind me of Lucille), but nevertheless, thank you for befriending my daughter. Your strength and fearlessness have enabled her to recognize her own strength. You bless us with your gifts that go beyond this one.
